Nami's was tragic overall, given that she nearly lost everything twice- first when Arlong invaded, having to work for them for 8 years after she lost her adoptive mother, and the second time when the Navy confiscated her money, her village nearly got themselves killed trying to avenge her, and Arlong cheated out of the deal.
Usopp was also sad, given that while his dad was out with Shanks, his mom died of fever, and he was pretty much the village liar, but he still raised several kids as part of a mini pirate crew, took the time to visit Kaya while she was sick and kept her happy, telling her stories.. and overall was happy he's the son of a great pirate, playing tricks and all!
Zoro was also a tale of great struggle- having trained for years to surpass his female rival, Kuina who wanted to be the greatest swordswoman. But after Kuina died in an accident, Zoro promised to her before she died that he'd be the greatest swordsman in her name!
Sanji, while his story is marred by great sacrifice like how his mentor and father figure Zeff ate his leg while stranded, he can't also help but owe his life to Zeff; because while at the same time is the indirect reason Zeff ate his own leg, Sanji decided to be a great chef for his shortcomings and find the All Blue!
But until Luffy came, he stayed on the Baratie disregarding his dreams until Zeff gave him acknowledgement and permission to go with Luffy.
And Luffy? While his story as a whole is unknown to me at this moment, I know that he ate the Gomu-Gomu fruit while he was young- and that at the time he idolized Shanks for his demeanor, but after Shanks sacrificed his arm to a Sea King, Luffy would be promising Shanks that he'll find the One Piece, Be the Pirate King, and at the same time raise a great and powerful crew!
